Blocks for landing pages: drawing attention and creating a reason to act now.

Countdown

Counts down to a moment and stops when the time is up.

Set the deadline when you insert it. Real urgency only — a launch, an event, an offer that genuinely ends. A countdown that resets every time someone reloads teaches people to ignore your deadlines.

Think about what the page should say afterwards. A finished countdown above a "Buy now" button raises an obvious question.

Rotates through several images, each with its own text and button. It can also be connected to a collection, generating one slide per entry — see showing entries on a page.

Slides can advance on their own or wait for the visitor.

Everything after the first slide is hidden — from visitors and from search engines. Most people never click past slide one. Put your most important message on the first slide, and don't use a carousel to avoid choosing what matters most.

Good use: a gallery where the pictures are the point. Bad use: your three main selling points where only one is ever seen.

Marquee

Logos or text scrolling endlessly sideways.

The standard "trusted by" strip. Works because it fits many logos in little space and reads as motion rather than a demand for attention.

Keep it to logos or short phrases. Nobody reads a moving paragraph.

Counter

A number that counts up from zero when it scrolls into view. "10,000 customers", "99.9% uptime".

Two rules. Use real numbers — an invented one is the fastest way to lose someone who checks. And give it a label that means something: "2,000 teams" beats "2,000 users" if teams is what you count.

Lottie animation

A small animated graphic, much lighter than a video of the same thing. See video, files, fonts and Lottie.

Using these well

Every block here draws the eye. Two of them on a page is a design; five is a fairground.

Pick the one that matches what you're actually claiming: a deadline for a countdown, other people's trust for a marquee, scale for a counter. Using a countdown when nothing ends is the sort of thing visitors notice.
