Themes

One Tessolo theme drives colours, fonts and spacing across the whole site: what it controls, schemes as starting points, and block overrides.

Open the Theme tab in the editor's right panel and you're editing the whole site, not the page you happen to be on.

What a theme controls

  • Colours — nine slots used by every block
  • Appearance — whether the site shows light or dark
  • Fonts — one for headings, one for body text
  • Corner radius — how rounded buttons, cards and images are
  • Spacing scale — how generous the gaps are throughout

Because blocks read from the theme instead of carrying their own colours, changing one value updates everything consistently. That's the point: it's very hard to end up with four slightly different blues.

Schemes are starting points

The panel opens with a row of ready-made colour schemes — Minimal mono, Deep navy, Vivid magenta, Noir tech, Sunset warm, Editorial mono.

Picking one replaces the palette and fonts. It is not a lock-in: everything is editable afterwards, and a scheme is just a convenient set of values.

If you have a brand colour, skip the schemes and use Generate from brand color — see colours.

Changes save on their own

The panel says Changes save automatically. There's no Apply button. Like page edits, it saves your draft — visitors see it after you publish.

When to override on a block

Blocks can still set their own colour, size or spacing. That's for emphasis — one call to action in the accent colour — not for building a look.

The test: if you'd want it to change when your brand colour changes, it belongs in the theme. If it's a deliberate one-off, override it on the block.

Reusing a theme

Once the site looks right, Save as theme puts it in your workspace library so other sites can use it. See saving and reusing themes.
