Sync email addresses into Mailchimp
Every address a form collects joins a Mailchimp audience automatically.
Someone subscribes on your site, and their address lands in your Mailchimp audience a second later — no export, no copy-paste, no weekly reminder to yourself.
Starter and aboveThis is one more target in Settings → Outgoing integrations, so it reuses everything that lives there: the retry schedule, the delivery log, and the alert email when something is broken.
Connect it
Get an API key from Mailchimp
In Mailchimp: Account & billing → Extras → API keys → Create a key.
Copy it — it looks like 0123…cdef-us21. The bit after the dash is your data centre;
we read it from the key, so you never have to know what it means.
Add the target
Settings → Outgoing integrations → Add a target, pick Mailchimp list, paste the key and hit Load audiences. Choose the audience from the dropdown — there is no ID to copy anywhere.

Decide how people join
Send a confirmation email first is on by default. Mailchimp mails the person, and they only join once they click. Turn it off and addresses go straight in — faster, but you have no record that they agreed, and that matters if a campaign ever gets reported as spam.
Save, then test
Hit Test. A sample address is pushed with the settings you just saved, and the result (including anything Mailchimp complains about) shows up next to the target.
What gets sent
| Mailchimp field | Comes from |
|---|---|
| Email address | The first field on the form that looks like an email |
FNAME / LNAME | A field named something like Name — skipped when there isn't one |
| Tag | The form name, so you can segment by which form someone came from |
Orders and new members can be synced too — tick those events on the target. They're tagged
order and member.
Things worth knowing
- A submission with no email address is skipped entirely. Nothing is queued, nothing is retried, and it doesn't count as a failure.
- Somebody who is already on the list isn't an error. Mailchimp rejects duplicates and we treat that as success — otherwise every returning customer would look like a broken integration.
- The key is write-only. After you save it, only the last four characters are shown. To point at a different audience, paste the key again and reload the list.
- Deleting the target stops future syncing. Nobody is removed from Mailchimp — the audience is yours.
Why there's no campaign sending
Tessolo doesn't send marketing campaigns, and won't. Mailchimp (or whatever you use) is far better at it, and your subscriber list belongs somewhere that handles unsubscribes, bounces and deliverability for a living. Our job stops at getting the address there.
Push submissions to Slack, Feishu, Zapier and your own server
Outgoing integrations: one submission, several targets, with retries and a signature.
API keys: let other systems read and write your content
Issue a key, send it with each request, and read or write collections and form submissions from your own tools.
