What happens after submit
Choose what visitors see after submitting a Tessolo form: a thank-you message or a redirect to a thank-you page, and how to count conversions.
The Form block has After a successful submit with two choices.
Show a message
The form is replaced by a Success message you write. Simplest, and right for a newsletter signup where there's nothing more to say.
Write what actually happens next: "Thanks — we'll reply within a working day" beats "Form submitted successfully". The second one tells them something they can already see.
Go to a page
The visitor is sent to a page you pick from Which page. Right when you have more to say, or when you need to count conversions.
A redirect only happens on the published site. Inside the editor's preview the message is shown instead — otherwise testing a form would throw you out of the editor.
Building a thank-you page
Make an ordinary page — /thanks — and put on it:
- confirmation the thing happened, and when to expect a reply
- somewhere to go next: your best article, your product page
- anything useful while they're warm: a calendar link, a download
Then set Hide from search engines in its page settings. A thank-you page in search results is noise, and people landing on it directly are confused.
Counting conversions
A separate page is what makes conversions countable: "how many people reached /thanks" is
a question any analytics tool can answer, including the built-in one.
With an inline message there's no new address, so nothing to count. If you're running ads, that alone decides it.
The Data page for your site shows form submissions against pageviews as a conversion figure without any setup.
Submission rules
Submission rules for Tessolo forms: allow one answer per person, close the form at a set time, or cap the number of places or responses.
Submissions and notifications
Where Tessolo form submissions land, who gets the notification email, exporting entries to CSV, deleting them, and what to check if none arrive.
