Generating images with AI
Describe a picture in a sentence and Tessolo draws four to choose from, straight into your media library.
Every page needs pictures, and most of the time you don't have the right one. Tessolo can draw one for you: describe what you want in a sentence, pick a style and a shape, and you get four to choose from.
Where to find it
The Generate tab lives in the picker you already use to choose an image, so it shows up everywhere you pick one:
- any image field in the properties panel — a photo, a section background, a slide, a card, an avatar, a video cover
- inserting an image into rich text
- an image field on a collection item
- the site icon in Site settings → General
In the properties panel there is also a Generate button next to Choose image, which opens the picker straight on that tab.
You can also generate images from Media in the site menu, without opening the editor — useful when you want a few pictures ready before you start building.
Writing the description
Write a plain sentence about what should be in the picture. You don't need any prompt tricks, and you can write in your own language — Tessolo translates and expands it before it reaches the model.

Two things worth knowing:
- Describe the scene, not the style. The style is a separate choice below, and saying "photo, 4k, highly detailed" in the sentence only muddies it.
- Anything you don't mention won't be there. If you want a person in the picture, say so.
Style and shape
Style sets the overall look. All six keep text, signage and logos out of the picture — generated lettering always comes out as gibberish, and generated logos are a legal problem.
| Style | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Photo | Editorial photography, natural light, calm and uncluttered |
| Illustration | Soft painted shapes, warm limited palette |
| Flat graphic | Bold geometric shapes, two or three solid colours |
| Soft 3D | Matte clay-like objects, one soft light |
| Line art | Single-weight ink strokes on a plain background |
| Film | Analogue film, warm faded tones, visible grain |
Shape is already set for you based on where the image goes — a section background starts on wide 16:9, an avatar on square. Change it if you want something else.
Choosing one
Look at one full size before you use it. AI images get details wrong in ways that are invisible at thumbnail size: furniture that appears twice, architecture that couldn't be built, a wall in a colour that clashes with everything else on the page. Hover a result and click View full size.
Click Use this one and the image is saved to your media library, in a folder called AI, and dropped into the field you were editing. The other three are not saved — if none of them is right, Try another set draws four more.
Tessolo also fills in the image description (the alt text) with the sentence you wrote, as long as that field is still empty. It never overwrites a description you wrote yourself.
What it costs
Generating counts against your plan's monthly allowance. One generation is one click of Generate, whatever comes back — if only two of the four come out, it still counts once.
| Plan | Images per month |
|---|---|
| Free | 10 |
| Starter | 100 |
| Pro | 500 |
| Business | 2,000 |
The count resets at the start of each month. You can see where you are under Workspace settings → Billing.
If a generation fails outright — nothing comes back at all — it doesn't count.
When it doesn't work
- "That didn't come out." The model returned nothing. Try describing the picture more specifically, and give it a second go — this one is free.
- Only some of the pictures appeared. The ones that did are fine to use. This still counts as one generation.
- "Your media space is full." The picture was drawn but there's no room to keep it. Delete some unused files in Media, or upgrade.
What it can't do yet
- Reference images — "make one like this", or "put my product in this scene". The model supports it; the interface for it doesn't exist yet.
- Exact repeats. There's no seed, so the same description gives different pictures every time. If you like one, save it.
- Text in the picture. Deliberately blocked, for the reason above. Put words on top with a text block instead.
Desktop, tablet and phone
